From Taekwondo Times Publisher, Grandmaster Woojin Jung**

It is with profound respect and a heavy heart that I honor Grandmaster Moon, widely known as the Godfather of Taekwondo in Mexico. His life’s work stands as one of the most influential and enduring contributions to the global growth of our martial art.

Grandmaster Moon was a true pioneer — a man who carried Taekwondo across borders with unwavering dedication, discipline, and vision. Through his leadership, he transformed Taekwondo in Mexico from a small community into a powerful national movement that continues to inspire practitioners around the world.

His impact was so significant that Taekwondo Times proudly featured Grandmaster Moon on the cover of Issue #256 (July 2024), recognizing his extraordinary achievements and his role in shaping the future of Taekwondo throughout Latin America.
You can view that historic issue here:

That cover remains one of the most meaningful in our publication’s history — a testament to a master whose influence transcended generations.

Every dojang he established, every instructor he mentored, and every student he guided carries forward his legacy. His teachings were not limited to technique; he instilled honor, humility, courage, and the true spirit of Taekwondo.

As Publisher of Taekwondo Times, and as a fellow pioneer who has dedicated a lifetime to the advancement of our art, I extend my deepest condolences to the Taekwondo community of Mexico and to all who were shaped by his wisdom. Grandmaster Moon’s legacy will continue to shine brightly, inspiring future generations to walk the path he helped build.

His name is etched into Taekwondo history.
His spirit remains in every bow, every kihap, and every act of perseverance.
Grandmaster Moon’s legacy is eternal.
