I was also a TV weather anchor, and actually had to sign a contract with FOX news that they could terminate me if I for any reason became disfigured in the face from training and competing!
That actually deterred me for a minute..
Not from my training, but from taking that job!
I could have quit training right there to further my extremely competitive career…
But as I look back now 27 years later, I can see that I did the right thing, because here I am, still teaching and training today long after my TV career came and went.
I always tell my students, if there’s one thing our martial arts training teaches us, it’s how to “not quit!”
And truthfully, I dont always have all the answers, and I don’t know everything…
But I’ll figure it out…
because I know how to “not quit.
