According to the agreement signed Thursday, South Korea would provide financial and technical support to Vietnam Taekwondo Federation (VTF) starting 2020 to 2023.
South Korea will provide Kim Kil-tae, an expert advising Vietnam’s national Taekwondo team, the best assistance in training local martial artists.
Vietnamese martial artists are currently training for 2021 SEA Games, scheduled from November 21 to December 2 in Hanoi, hopeful of earning 2021 Olympic Tokyo tickets.
Once the Covid-19 pandemic is put under control, Vietnamese athletes would also travel to South Korea to further hone their skills with the help of local experts.
Korean Culture Center also announced it would host 2020 Korean Ambassador Taekwondo Cup in Thua Thien-Hue Province in central Vietnam from October 12 to 19. Over 700 martial artists from 45 Taekwondo clubs across Vietnam will take part in the competition.
