Tae Kwon Do is extremely popular in China, with hundreds of schools. The Chinese Taekwondo Association is a national mass sports organization and member of the All-China Sports Federation. Its highest organ of power is the CTA National Committee, and the Standing Committee is in charge of the administration work. Taekwondo was officially adopted by the State Physical Culture and Sports Commission in 1994 as a new addition to China’s Olympic and Asiad sports program. Taekwondo is one of the two Asian martial arts included on the Olympic program. Taekwondo made its debut as a demonstration Olympic sport at the 1988 Seoul Games, and became an official medal sport at the 2000 Sydney Games. Apart from the Olympic program tag team competitions of  up to 5 on 5 are now popular.
