I didn’t know if this would work, but it did…
And now, some 320 karate magazines later, I realize that most people don’t know if anything will work in the beginning.
This is one of my first karate magazine debuts in Black Belt Magazine in the mid 1990’s.For some reason I had stumbled across a formula for getting into magazines…I was a legitimate broadcast journalist, a legitimate Black belt, and I became friends with a really good photographer…I had no clue if my submissions would ever get picked up, but I’ve also never been afraid of the word “no.”I think it’s important to teach the next generation how to be successful…And I want them to know that you never know in the beginning…I’ve tried and failed at places that I thought for sure would work out, but then ended up winning in places I had no idea would work out…You must be comfortable with the “not knowing”…So heres’ the basic formula…Dont be afraid of the unknown ![]()
