World Taekwondo Federation gets ready for Rio 2016 Olympics

YEREVAN, APRIL 5, ARMENPRESS. The World Taekwondo Federation is engaged in the serious activity to provide a steadfast place for the martial art in the Olympic Games program. The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Armenia informed "Armenpress" that in this respect certain changes have been made particularly regarding the order of participation in the tournaments. The names of top eight athletes will be declared in November 2015.


Arman Yeremyan (80 kg) from Yerevan, who occupied the fifth place in the London Olympics, is also seriously getting ready for “Rio-2016”. The 26-year old athlete will take part in the trainings with the National Taekwondo Team of Iran on April 6-20. After he will head to Spain and take part in "A" class international tournament. Arman Yerenyan's personal coach Vardan Vardanyan will accompany his student in Spain. This will serve as a good preporation before the world Taekwondo championship, which is scheduled to be held in Mexico on July 17-21.


The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Armenia finances the whole range of events.
